Direct answer
A van sales POS records orders and completed sales where the customer is, while keeping stock and payment records tied to each visit. Before rollout, decide what happens when the salesperson has no signal and when the van returns to the depot.
Separate orders from delivered sales
An order booked for later fulfilment should not reduce van stock in the same way as goods handed to a customer. Map both actions, including partial deliveries and returns, so the depot knows what to replenish.
Check cash and digital payments
Field staff may record cash, a promised payment or a provider-confirmed transfer. Those are different states. Require a clear daily reconciliation and do not assume a mobile-money transaction can be authorised without a network.
Test one full route
Start with stock loaded into a van, complete several visits with an interruption, then return stock and reconcile cash. EazSell can be evaluated for Android mobile sales; hardware, offline scope and fiscal receipt handling need a route-specific demonstration.
What to check before you decide
- Map loaded, sold and returned stock.
- Separate payment promise from confirmation.
- Test a full day of offline and online visits.
Questions people ask
Is a handheld POS enough for van sales?
No. It also needs a workable stock, payment and end-of-day process.
