How should a Ghana POS record MoMo, card and cash?
Keep payment methods and confirmation states clear when closing a retail shift.

Direct answer
A POS should record how each sale was paid and whether an external payment was actually confirmed. Cash, card and mobile-money records need separate totals so staff can reconcile them against drawers and provider statements.
A payment label is not a payment link
Some systems let a cashier select 'MoMo' as a record without initiating or confirming a mobile-money transaction. Ask the vendor which provider connections exist for the proposed deployment. If there is no integration, staff still need a procedure to verify the payment.
Handle split and failed payments
Test one customer paying partly in cash and partly by card, then a declined or abandoned transfer. The POS should not quietly mark the whole sale as settled if part of the payment failed.
Close against external evidence
At shift end, compare cash in the drawer with cash sales, and provider statements with card or mobile-money records. EazSell can keep payment-method records, but any live provider integration must be confirmed for the merchant's chosen setup.
What to check before you decide
- Distinguish recorded method from provider confirmation.
- Test split and failed payments.
- Reconcile with provider statements.
Questions people ask
Does choosing MoMo in a POS prove payment?
