Direct answer

A restaurant POS should make order entry, bill changes and shift closing easy for the service team. Test the rush-hour workflow and receipt requirements on the exact device and printer you plan to use.

Use a realistic order

Create a table or counter order, change an item, split the bill and record two payment methods if the product supports them. Check how the kitchen or preparation area receives updates. A system that looks quick for one item may slow down a busy service.

Check the close

Review voids, discounts, open orders and cash differences with a supervisor. The shift report should explain the numbers without forcing staff to reconstruct them from receipt rolls.

Separate billing from fiscal approval

A restaurant bill and a GRA E-VAT receipt are not interchangeable. GRA states that VAT invoice requirements also apply to hotel and restaurant receipts where relevant. Confirm the approved tax workflow for the establishment.

What to check before you decide

  • Test order changes and bill splits.
  • Reconcile a shift with voids and discounts.
  • Verify the E-VAT route for VAT-registered operations.

Questions people ask
