A POS manages the sale at the counter. A Certified Invoicing System is the fiscal invoicing route described by GRA. One product may cover both jobs, but ordinary POS features do not prove that its VAT receipts are certified.

Keep the roles separate

A shop may rely on its POS for prices, inventory, cashier permissions and daily totals. Fiscal invoicing adds tax treatment, authentication and evidence that must follow the approved route. When comparing vendors, ask them to identify which component performs each job.

What to request from a supplier

Request the applicable GRA approval or onboarding evidence for the exact software version and merchant. Then ask for a receipt sample from a real test transaction. A brochure that says 'VAT ready' is not the same as an accepted production invoice.
